Meet the Teaching Artists

In Process classes and workshops are taught by local artists and makers. Meet all the wonderful artists below!

Dani Pugel

Dani Pugel is a local artist, instructor, and mother dwelling on the near east side of Indianapolis. With bachelor's degrees in both sculpture and ceramics from Herron School of Art and Design, clay is the medium you'll find her working in and teaching the most (among many). Dani's personal work is pattern and color-forward and is always in flux after all this time- forever changing, open for exploration. Her art instruction is focused on inclusion, freedom, and play.  Dani is passionate about helping heal people's relationship with their own creative selves

Jennifer Blue Blanchard believes that it is an innate human need to create. At all stages of life, people need safe ways to process their inner worlds. She holds a BA from IU Bloomington in Painting and Drawing, minor in Art History, with an ongoing independent study of using art as a coping strategy for life. For over 20 years, Jennifer has been teaching workshops by utilizing nature and repurposed materials. She has led paint parties, mask making, air dry clay making, cardboard club, and much more. As a mother of three, she has also ventured into the world of High School and Middle School art by long term subbing for Irvington Community Schools. In addition to classes, Jennifer also paints scenic for the Indy Opera and Phoenix Theatre Cultural Center.

Patty Fulton

Patty Fulton is a fiber artist based in Greenwood, Indiana. Alongside creating textural woven artwork for homes and public spaces, she leads Weaving in Community, a community art practice centered on bringing people together through the craft of weaving.

Over the past two years, Patty has taught weaving throughout the Indianapolis area in assisted living communities, hospitals, brewpubs, libraries, community centers, and art studios. She has also guided groups in creating collaborative large-scale weavings at events such as First Fridays and summer camps.

“I love introducing people to weaving because it reminds us that creativity doesn’t have to be complicated. With just a few simple techniques, anyone can create something beautiful. My classes are relaxed, encouraging, and designed to give you a chance to slow down, enjoy the process, and discover what your hands can make. Whether you’ve never picked up a loom or you’re looking to explore a new creative outlet, I’d love to weave with you.”
